Anglers sue Welsh Water over eutrophication

An important test case concerning the water industry's liability for eutrophication damage to fisheries has been launched by the Anglers Cooperative Association (ACA) against Welsh Water. The civil claim alleges that phosphate in a sewage discharge in North Wales has caused algal blooms in a lake and river and spoilt fishing.
