Cumbrian crypto study confirms tap-water link

A long-running study sponsored by the Drinking Water Inspectorate has confirmed that high rates of the stomach bug cryptosporidiosis in the North West of England were linked to tap water.1 But the study also found that membrane treatment was highly effective in removing the risk, and that some cases were due to other causes such as contact with farm animals.
