Scottish Water fined for sewage overflow

Scottish Water has been fined £2,500 after polluting the river Enrick, near Drumnadrochit, with over 900 tonnes of raw sewage. The company appeared before Inverness sheriff court on 24 June to plead guilty to causing sewage effluent to be discharged into the river, contrary to section 30(F)3 of the Control of Pollution Act 1974.
