SEA Directive starts flood of new guidance

A series of guidance documents on implementing the EU Directive on strategic environmental assessment (SEA) has emerged over the summer - with plenty more to come. Important guides on SEA and climate change and biodiversity have been published by the environment agencies - but they are concerned that Government plans to subsume SEA into wider sustainability appraisals in England will diminish its value before it has barely got off the ground.
