Small petrol stations to escape vapour recovery controls

Several hundred of the UK's smaller petrol stations will be exempted from an EU requirement to recover vapours released during fuel delivery, under Government proposals.1 The Environment Department (DEFRA) argues that the exemption will have negligible environmental impact and will improve the prospects for smaller petrol stations in rural areas.
