Scrap over 'greening government' continues

The Government has dropped its commitment to require all significant new policies to be subject to environmental appraisal in favour of a revamped regulatory impact assessment process. The decision was announced in its response to a report from the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee which shows the two still at loggerheads over integrating environmental considerations into policy and reporting on progress.1
