ReChem loses £250,000 battle over red list discharges

The incineration business ReChem International suffered a severe defeat in September after a protracted legal battle with Welsh Water over unconsented discharges to sewer. The case appears to have important parallels with unconsented discharges direct to the environment, and may also encourage water companies to tighten their trade effluent agreements to exclude red list and other dangerous substances.
