From April, many industries and businesses will face increased charges from the Environment Agency (EA), under proposals out for consultation. The agency has been working behind the scenes with businesses and trade organisations for the past 12 months on the wide-ranging package of changes. But that didn’t prevent industry bodies expressing their disquiet at the final charging proposals when they were unveiled on 30 November.
