Ofgem chair to step down

The chairman of Ofgem, David Gray, is to retire in September.

Gray was appointed chairman of Ofgem’s ruling body, the UK Gas & Electricity Markets Authority (GEMA), in October 2013.

He was previously an executive director of Ofgem from 2003 to 2007, in charge of the networks division.

The announcement of his retirement was made in December.

BEIS is overseeing the recruitment process for a new chair.
