The highly-anticipated 25-year environment plan has split opinion with some saying it ‘lacks teeth and urgency’ while others praise its scope and ambition

The 25-year environment plan arrived today after a two-year wait, delighting some but disappointing others for its lack of teeth, targets and new initiatives.

NGOs such as WWF and committees such as the Environmental Audit Committee have long pressed the government to create a strong, detailed action plan that includes firm targets underpinned by law.
