Price control mechanism for electricity network costs has made ‘no impact’

Ofgem must clamp down on network operators criticised for yielding profits beyond the ‘wildest dreams’ of other companies, according to ECIU

The new price control mechanism for regional network operators in Great Britain is not working, according to an energy think tank.

The Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) published its evaluation of regulator Ofgem’s price mechanism RIIO on 15 January, claiming it has made “no impact on profits or dividends”.
