EU plastics proposals threaten to outshine UK efforts

The EU’s targets for plastic appear to be far more ambitious than the UK is willing to go, leading to uncertainty as to how UK could adopt the circular economy package

The European Commission has set out plans to increase the recyclability of packaging in a 'plastics strategy' that also called for increased recycling facilities and a standardised system for the collection and sorting of waste across Europe.
