Firms fined £180,000 for ‘entirely avoidable’ groundwater pollution

Two contractors have been ordered to pay more than £180,000 for polluting groundwater with over 11,000 litres of diesel

A construction firm and its subcontractor have been fined more than £180,000 for polluting groundwater with around 11,000 litres of diesel.

Kier Construction, and its subcontractor BKP Waste Recycling pleaded guilty and were sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court on 12 January.
