EA plans to raise fees ‘unjustified’ and ‘disproportionately high’

The Environment Agency’s plans to increase permitting fees are too much too soon, according to the NFU, Rivers Trust and ADBA

Environment Agency (EA) plans to increase permitting charges are being met with strenuous resistance from farmers and the Rivers Trust.

The plans, put out for consultation in November, set out changes to the environmental permitting charging regime and a number of other charging schemes which in many cases will see industries facing large increases in costs.
