EAC accuses government of ‘spectacularly failing to honour’ SDGs

EAC has sent a scathing letter to officials after the government failed to embed sustainable development goals within single departmental plans across Whitehall

The Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) has accused the government of failing to honour its commitments on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The 17 goals for 2030, aimed at alleviating poverty and increasing equality across the world, were agreed by the UN in 2015. They include a number of environmental targets including a specific goal for member states to take “urgent action to combat climate change”.
