Conservation projects boosted by extra £600,000 funding for environment

Thirty-seven farming groups have been offered a total of £2.3m for projects to improve the natural environment across their land

DEFRA has granted £2.3m to 37 farming groups to fund work to decrease flood risk, improve water quality and boost biodiversity and protected species on their land.

The Countryside Stewardship Facilitation Fund rewards groups of farmers coming together to work out the best ways to improve the natural environment across their land and provide habitats for wildlife on a landscape scale.
