The 25-Year Environment Plan makes broad commitments to improve the environment but some of the initiatives it champions build on work already in progress. The ENDS Report takes a look at some of the pioneering projects already under way

The 25-Year Environment Plan includes a series of ambitious goals, but has been criticised in some quarters for containing plans for plans. Despite this, it is still the most substantial piece of environmental policy to come out of any government since the 2011 natural environment white paper, which followed the much lauded Lawton review, published in 2010.
