Gove understands calls for a new environment act

Environment secretary Michael Gove is urging green groups to press for legislation to underpin the 25-Year Environment Plan “in hope rather than despair”.

At a DEFRA event with the Natural Capital Committee on 1 March Gove said he “absolutely gets” the need for a nature law to ensure the ambitions in the plan are met.
