Gove hints at new environment bill

The environment secretary this morning again made public his support for a new environment bill, but details are still thin on the ground

Environment secretary Michael Gove has again signalled his desire for a new environment bill to underpin the 25-Year Environment Plan.

Speaking at a Prosperity UK-run event this morning, Gove said: “If we are to honour our pledge to leave the environment in a better state than we inherited it, we must also leave our statute book in a better state.”
