1. Environment Agency confirms details of increases to permitting charges
The Environment Agency has confirmed details of the new permitting charges that it will bring into force from 1 April, rejecting industry calls to delay the implementation of the new charging scheme until next year. The changes to the environmental permitting charging regime and a number of other charging schemes, which were consulted on last November, will see industries facing large increases in costs in many cases.
