The House of Commons’ Transport Committee has backed a third runway for Heathrow Airport, if it comes alongside new environmental safeguards and policy changes.

Its consideration of the government’s draft airports national policy statement (NPS) was published on 23 March, accepting arguments that the government was right to favour expanding the UK’s only hub airport.
