Government signals U-turn over local wildlife protection

The government has suggested it will reconsider its decision to drop the protection of local wildlife sites from its National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

The government has suggested it will reconsider its decision to drop the protection of local wildlife sites from its National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).

Conservation groups had been concerned that protection for local wildlife sites, which are protected under current national planning rules, were not included in the draft NPPF published last month.
