Commonwealth to tackle plastic pollution through new research hub

A research and innovation hub to bring together scientific and technical expertise has been announced by the UK government

Experts from across the Commonwealth will collaborate to find sustainable alternatives to plastic and solutions to prevent plastic from entering the ocean through a hub launched by the UK.

Countries including India and Canada have already signed up to the hub, to be known as the Marine Plastics Research and Innovation Framework. The UK will lead on designing and running the framework, while an international steering board will oversee the work.
