A new shale environmental regulator will be established in England by the summer, the government has announced.

Alongside a raft of new measures to streamline fracking applications, the energy secretary Greg Clark and housing secretary James Brokenshire published a joint written ministerial statement today intended to be used in planning decisions and plan-making in England.
