Recent revisions to the environmental impact assessment regime are taking time to bed in, with different approaches emerging, according to consultants at ENDS 2018 environmental consultants roundtable. Jamie Carpenter reports

Environmental impact assessments now need to cover a greater range of topic areas

When senior individuals from major environmental consultancies met in March for the ENDS environmental consultants roundtable, regulations bringing into force revisions to the environmental impact assessment (EIA) regime were nearly a year old. But roundtable attendees indicated that the new regime has yet to bed in. Their comments suggest environmental consultancies are responding to the new rules in different ways, with different approaches emerging.
