Deadline extended for ISO 14001 environmental management standard compliance

The International Accreditation Forum has announced a sixth-month extension to the deadline for companies to achieve compliance with an environmental management standard following low take up

Companies hoping to transition to the updated ISO 14001 environmental management standard published in 2015 will now have until March 2019 to make the change.

The ISO 14001 environmental management standard was updated in September 2015. Companies certified to the previous version, ISO 14001: 2004, were given three years to make the change. All existing certifications were previously due to expire by 15 September 2018.
