Uncertainty around the UK’s position within the EU’s carbon trading system is having a “direct impact on the day-to-day business of energy companies”.

That’s the opinion of Lawrence Slade, chief executive of Energy UK whose members include suppliers British Gas, E.ON and EDF Energy.
