Urban trees ‘not a solution’ for air pollution

Academics have questioned the potential for more urban vegetation to improve air quality.

In a report published last week, DEFRA’s advisory Air Quality Expert Group notes that “trees in particular are regarded as beneficial for air quality, but they are not a solution to the air quality problems at a city scale”.
