Oxford City Council has demanded that local authorities are handed more powers to tackle air pollution. Councillor Tom Hayes, responsible for the environment on the council board, wrote to environment secretary Michael Gove at the end of June. Having waited for a response for six weeks, the council made the letter public on Monday.
