The National Trust wants to boost dwindling water vole numbers

Water voles to be reintroduced in Somerset

Endangered water voles are being reintroduced into a stretch of river in Somerset, as part of a National Trust project.

Over the next few days, the charity said today, it will release 150 at six locations on the its Holnicote Estate on Exmoor, Somerset – where they were last seen in the 1980s.
