Renewable energy company Solo Energy has appointed Ben Hill to advise on creating virtual power plants to balance fluctuations in electricity supply.

The company has developed a system for creating virtual power plants by installing small batteries and electric vehicle to grid technology in homes and offices, which can be switched on to supply electricity when demand exceeds generating capacity.
