News that the Environment Agency (EA) has not investigated any company for breaching European waste hierarchy rules since they were first introduced seven years ago is shining a light on the agency's ongoing enforcement issues.

In a statement sent to ENDS, the EA said it welcomed Burberry’s announcement that it is ceasing its practice of incinerating millions of pounds worth of unsaleable stock - something experts have claimed breached Regulation 12 of the Waste (England and Wales) Regulations.
