Aston Villa Football Club has applied to the Environment Agency (EA) for an abstraction permit as part of the forced relocation of its training ground to make way for HS2.

In a statement published yesterday, the EA said it was giving notice of the application in accordance with Section 37 of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Regulation 6 of the Water Resources (Abstraction and Impounding) Regulations 2006.
