The European Commission has launched an online tool aimed at making environmental data more easily accessible across Europe

The European Commission has launched an online tool aimed at making environmental data more easily accessible across Europe.

The Commission describes the INSPIRE geoportal, launched this week, as “a one-stop shop for public authorities, business and citizens to discover, access and use data sets related to the environment in Europe”.

The tool is based on the metadata regularly harvested from the 36 officially registered national data catalogues of EU member states and European Free Trade Area (EFTA) countries.
