There is a “high risk” DEFRA will be unable to deliver all the statutory instruments it needs to convert EU law into UK law by exit day in a no-deal Brexit scenario, according to a report by the public spending watchdog (download full infographic).

According to a National Audit Office report, published on 12 September, DEFRA needs 151 statutory instruments (SIs) in 2018 for EU-exit and non-EU-exit business, more than double the average of the previous eight years (see figure 1).
