Around two-thirds of modern slavery victims in the UK have been active in the waste industry, the latest evidence suggests.

Figures released by the National Crime Agency at the end of last month showed an overall surge in UK modern slavery figures with an 11% increase in the number of referrals of potential victims to agencies in the first quarter of 2018.
