The Scottish government has appointed a new chief scientific adviser for the environment, natural resources and agriculture.

Professor Andrew Millar, director of research for biological sciences at the University of Edinburgh, will advise on developing and securing Scotland’s scientific base on environmental issues over the Brexit process. The role involves providing independent advice to inform policy work and championing evidence-based decision making.
