The Low Carbon Vehicle Partnership has been awarded £2.5m to assess a greater number of emission reduction technologies for a wider range of heavy vehicles.

The government cash for the Clean Vehicle Retrofit Accreditation Scheme (CVRAS) will allow it to be expanded to cover lorries. Applications for coaches and refuse collection vehicles are already being approved now. The scheme was originally launched last year for buses only.
