The Scottish government is doubling its financial support for projects to collect and recover marine plastic pollution, environment secretary Roseanna Cunningham announced yesterday.

It has made available a total of £1 million, including funding from Marine Scotland to trial demonstration technologies in Scotland.

Announcing the funding, Cunningham said the move would further demonstrate “our absolute commitment to tackle the scourge of marine plastic pollution.
