The Environment Agency (EA) and 15 water companies are collaborating on a project in a bid to understand the impacts of the summer heatwave on water demand

The Environment Agency (EA) and 15 water companies are collaborating on a project in a bid to understand the impacts of the summer heatwave on water demand.

The project will analyse demand and weather data from across England and Wales and look at the amount of water put into supply, consumption and leakage and how they were affected by hot weather. It will also interrogate the effect of metering on demand and make comparisons between regions.
