Jailed waste criminal gets extended sentence

A waste criminal, already serving time in prison, has had his sentence increased for a one-month fly-tipping spree in London and Essex.

Patrick Joseph Egan pleaded guilty yesterday at Basildon Crown Court to three charges of illegally dumping waste using a lorry at sites not permitted to accept it.

He also admitted two further charges of “knowingly causing” the deposit of waste at two other locations.

The court heard that Egan dumped large waste piles illegally outside business sites in Essex and London five times in one month.
