The Scottish government has opened a new consultation on environmental noise as part of its preparations for an updated noise action plan

The Scottish government has opened a new consultation on environmental noise as part of its preparations for an updated noise action plan.

Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh and Glasgow are listed as the main areas of focus for the third cycle of noise mapping and mitigation measures that the Scottish government has carried out in line with the EU Environmental Noise Directive.

The consultation refers to draft action plans for these four cities, but not to those covering major transport systems such as motorways, airports and railway lines that lie outside city limits.
