Government announces extra £215m for UK innovation centres

The government has announced it will invest an additional £215m into its catapult network research programme as part of the modern industrial strategy.

The funding will go to the digital, medicines discovery, future cities and transport systems catapult centres.

It builds on the announcement made in August by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, of nearly £1bn for the catapult network for the next 5 years. The catapult network is managed by Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation.
