Plans to build a dual carriageway tunnel 165 metres away from Stonehenge road will ‘protect or enhance’ the environment, according to Highways England.

The development consent order was submitted to the planning inspector last week for a number of changes to the A303 between Amesbury and Berwick Down in Wiltshire.
