EA to pay £700k to ship back illegal waste dumped in Poland

The Environment Agency (EA) estimates it will cost it around £700,000 to repatriate waste illegally dumped by UK companies in Poland.

According to the EA’s latest board meeting minutes published last week, the agency sent officers to Poland in early October to inspect the sites, where Polish authorities claimed to have identified waste from England that had been illegally exported under the guise of ‘green list’ recyclable material.
