EA launches investigation into huge fly-tipping site

The Environment Agency (EA) has launched a criminal investigation after discovering what it has called "the worst case of fly-tipping in the south".

The EA is asking the public to identify their belongings that may have been tipped at the 100m by 100m site in Havant, Hampshire. The EA said it expects it will cost thousands of pounds to clear the site, which it first became aware of when some of the waste caught on fire.

The agency took photos of easily identifiable bits of household items, like paintings, sofas and a table tennis table and it is asking for the public to contact it to provide the agency with information on who they gave the waste to.
