DEFRA has denied claims that that it has been lobbying for proposals that would weaken new EU rules on toxic emissions from waste incinerators.

Greenpeace Unearthed reported last week that it had seen leaked notes suggesting the UK representatives had led a successful push in negotiations to retain a loophole in the draft regulations on emissions of nitrogen oxides (NOx).
