Environment Agency to consult on demaining Norfolk rivers

Responsibility for flood risk management and permitting for work on or near three stretches of watercourse in Norfolk could be moved from the Environment Agency to a local body.

Full details of the plan will be launched for consultation on 12 November, the Environment Agency said. If it goes ahead, the Norfolk Rivers Internal Drainage Board (IDB) and Broads IDB will take over management of the watercourses.
