Glasgow to climate proof city region

Glasgow City Region is to develop a comprehensive climate risk assessment including making rail and road infrastructure more resilient and supporting businesses to adapt.

A review by Climate Ready Clyde, a collaboration between local authorities, transport bodies, universities and government agencies, found that climate change could cost the city region around £400 million a year by the 2050s. However, this does not include costs from more frequent and severe extreme weather, it said.
