A Cumbrian council has refused plans for a gas-fired power plant on a greenfield site for a second time, in spite of planners’ recommendations.

On Friday, South Lakeland District Council refused to grant planning permission for a 49 megawatt gas plant on a 3.9 hectare field near Kendal.
